放生的功德
SECTION 59. The Merit of Releasing Lives
如今广大信众正在承诺三年里不宰杀家畜，
These days vast numbers of followers have promised to quit killing farm animals in three years.
这种善举是不可思议的。好孩子们，再接再厉！
Such virtuous action is astonishing! Good children, persist in your efforts!
大概四五年前，有一次我梦到托嘎如意宝对我放生护生的功德赐予了赞叹。
Four or five years ago I dreamed of Thupga Yishin Norbü (Thub dga’ yid bzhin nor bus), who praised my merit of protecting and releasing lives.
他老人家的话应该是菩萨加持的语言吧。
His words must be the speech blessed by bodhisattvas.
我把他的那些话在大众中传讲下去，结果堪布活佛们有如吸取甘露醍醐般欢喜雀跃，大家都在实行戒杀放生。
After I passed on his words to the public, tulkus and khenpos were so excited by this ambrosia that they immediately promoted releasing lives and abstention from killing.
比如，仅是今年慈诚罗珠堪布就放了大约一亿条一卡多长大大小小的鱼，多年放生总共加起来有好几亿了。
Just in this year Khenpo Tsultrim Lodro has had over 100 million big and small fish released, and in the past a few years he has had hundreds of millions fish released.
这不仅仅是一两个人的事，大家都要不遗余力地来放生。
This is not an activity for only a couple of people. Everyone should spare no effort to release lives.
在世俗的善根里，护生是至关重要的。
In terms of secular virtuous root, protecting lives is of foremost importance.
因此，人人要予以高度重视，尽可能地放生。
Therefore everyone should place great importance on it and release as many lives as possible.
